BENCHMARKS
continued
A
couple of years ago Eugene Doyle submitted four 'marks he had bagged
in the heart of Drogheda. One of them was located on the Tholsel on
West Street and was posted here as NUMBER 351. What has since emerged,
following an extensive hunt in the town by M.C. and Benchmarker, is
that that particular 'mark is not recorded on any of the maps. In
itself this is not of particularly great significance. However just a few
paces away on that same building is another 'mark, (which is in fact
recorded on the maps). What is particularly significant therefore is that the
Tholsel is almost certainly the only structure in the whole wide world to
display two 'marks; and also takes the record for the shortest
distance between any two 'marks. Take a bow, Drogheda!
