NUMBER 823

BENCHMARKS continued

Another one, a beauty and quite unusual, on Stradbrook Road in Blackrock in County Dublin, from Michael Byrne. It is on the east side of the road opposite the entrance to Stradbrook Lawn. The 'mark is at the top of a granite boulder that can be seen protruding through the concrete path. Michael writes “Amazingly, this stone was never leveled off when the "modern" path was installed and is probably only still there because it is tucked up close enough to the wall to avoid being a Health & Safety issue!”
