BENCHMARKS continued

This one in Edinburgh, Scotland, from Michael Byrne is on Princes Street, just left of the memorial statue to Sir James Young Simpson (1811 - 1870).

Michael Byrne adds “Life suddenly became a lot less painful for everyone, thanks to the efforts of Sir James Young Simpson. In 1847 he discovered the use of chloroform as an anesthetic. Benchmark hunting can be so educational!”
