The intention with this website is to locate at least 1,001 benchmark sites, or die in the attempt (no flowers please, house private). Photos of any benchmark sites found will be posted at intervals over the coming days, weeks, months, years, decades, centuries ... Anyone who wishes to contribute can send photos and descriptions of any benchmarks they find and would like to have included here, to mfbourke@gmail.com See post Number 1 for a fuller description.

NUMBER 432

BENCHMARKS continued

The final 'back of the sofa' gem from M.C. And it's another brickie. It's located on Sydney Parade Station in Dublin.

Below: The 'mark on Sydney Parade.

Above: The level-crossing at Sydney Parade with the 'mark at left. The bicycle clearly belongs to a side-saddle-riding cyclist. You can press the delete-key now, M.C.

NUMBER 431

BENCHMARKS continued

Another 'back of the sofa' gem from M.C. It's a brickie, located between the front doorways of Numbers 59 and 61 Clonskeagh Road in Dublin.

Below: A 'mark on Clonskeagh Road.

Above: Clonskeagh Road looking towards Ashton's. The 'mark is on the brickwork just to the left of the red door. Benchmarker is much taken with the old cast-iron coal-hole cover. They don't make them like that anymore.

NUMBER 430

BENCHMARKS continued

Three of the 'marks recorded by M.C. on his late Spring safari, seem to have somehow fallen down the back of Benchmarker's sofa. Benchmarker hadn't noticed their loss but M.C. raised the alarm. A successful search resulted and we bring them to you now. The first is on Anglesea Bridge on Morehampton Road in Dublin.

Above: On Anglesea Bridge looking south, with the 'mark between the letters S and E on the bridge wall at left.
