The Old Barracks has been converted for use at a Tea Rooms and Rest
Rooms for visitors to the castle. Attracting almost one and a half
million visitors in 2013, that's an awful lot of - tea.

There appears to be no record of the source of the unusual name. In
the background of the location photo can be seen Saint Margaret's
Chapel - 12th century and the oldest surviving building in Edinburgh.
