NUMBER 782

BENCHMARKS continued

Busted flat and battered-bruised and spattered in paint, is this one from Newry in County Down. It's on the north east wall of the bridge over the Newry River on Sugar Island.

BENCHMARKS continued

Further east and on the south side of where Hill Street becomes John Mitchell Place is another ancient church - perhaps Saint Mary's. Although the grounds were locked it was possible to spot the 'mark on the front of the building and the zoom lens, at full extension poked through the railings, did the necessary.

NUMBER 652

BENCHMARKS continued

On a prescription run to Newry, Benchmarker decided to kill two birds and do a little old fashioned hunting – no maps, just instinct and a feel for the quarry. Time was tight but nevertheless two were bagged. The future promises more. Both were on churches located on Hill Street.
