NUMBER 856

BENCHMARKS continued

This one from Michael Byrne is not the usual style, but many like it can be found within the United Kingdom. It's a "One Inch Brass Bolt", usually driven into bedrock and where no convenient vertical surface exists, giving a recorded height on that exact spot. It's in the grounds of Holyrood Park, Edinburgh.
